Summer EBT Outreach Materials

In summer 2024, New Jersey will launch Summer EBT, a new-to-NJ child nutrition program intended to reduce hunger and food insecurity for children during the summer when school is not in session.

This Outreach Toolkit, created in partnership between Hunger Free New Jersey and the NJ Office of the Food Security Advocate, includes:

  • A Summer EBT explainer and FAQ
  • Social media graphics and sample posts
  • Email and newsletter templates for schools and organizations to use to communicate with families about Summer EBT
  • Printable flyers and posters

NJFSI Awards Grant to HFNJ to Advance Health Equity

The New Jersey Food Security Initiative (NJFSI), a collaboration of community organizations and local and state agencies led by the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, today announced it has awarded a $198,612 grant to Hunger Free New Jersey (HFNJ) to bolster food security and improve nutrition to advance health equity across the state.
