Food Security Efforts in the 2025 Budget

This budget cycle, Governor Murphy, Senate President Scutari, and Speaker Coughlin addressed food insecurity in a big way. Governor Murphy signed the $56.7 billion FY2025 Budget last month, including an additional $30 million to provide free school meals.

The Governor and the Legislature have been champions in the fight against hunger, and we thank them for their commitment to promoting food security in this budget.

NJFSI Awards Grant to HFNJ to Advance Health Equity

The New Jersey Food Security Initiative (NJFSI), a collaboration of community organizations and local and state agencies led by the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, today announced it has awarded a $198,612 grant to Hunger Free New Jersey (HFNJ) to bolster food security and improve nutrition to advance health equity across the state.
