Hunger Cliff Convening

Since 2020, households receiving SNAP have been getting maximized benefits, or SNAP Emergency Allotments (SNAP EA).

Those extra benefits end this month and struggling NJ seniors will see a significant decrease in benefits, leaving them at greater risk for food insecurity. It is estimated that SNAP households will lose an average of $190 per month. Some seniors will lose even more.

The Office of the Food Security Advocate and Hunger Free New Jersey are hosting a virtual conversation on the looming hunger cliff.
