Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Program
The New Jersey Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer Program provides low-income families with a one-time $120 EBT card per eligible child to help purchase groceries during the summer.
Some children participating in programs like SNAP, TANF, income-based Medicaid, or foster care are automatically enrolled in Summer EBT. Others will need to submit a School Meals and Summer EBT Application with their school to qualify.
What household incomes qualify for Summer EBT?
Are homeschooled children eligible?
Homeschooled children must live in a household that participates in SNAP, TANF, income-eligible Medicaid, or Foster Care and be between the ages of 6-16 years to qualify. These children will be automatically enrolled in the program.
What about families who've recently moved?
To ensure Summer EBT cards are mailed to the right location, families who’ve recently moved or plan to move within the state, should contact the school district last attended by their child to update their address as soon as possible.
Families participating in SNAP, TANF, income-based Medicaid, or foster care should contact their local county social services office to update their information.
Families may also contact DFNSummerEBT@ag.nj.gov for further instructions.
