CFA/HFNJ committed to social justice

Center for Food Action and Hunger Free New Jersey are committed to social justice and working to end structural racism and inequity, which still permeates our nation.

At this pivotal time in our country, all of us must be stewards of the public good, standing for civil rights and a call for real and lasting change in our community and in our nation. We remain committed to speaking out against all forms of injustice.

We stand with the many peaceful protestors around the world who proudly recognize that Black Lives Matter.

As an organization, we mourn the loss of lives due to racist violence, including the lives of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Ezell Ford, Michele Cusseaux, Tanisha Anderson, Tamir Rice,  Philando Castile, Botham Jean, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and so many more.

We stand against the systematic disenfranchisement of black people and others and call for much needed social reform to ensure the rights of all people.

We recognize the importance of making meaningful and deliberate change and being a voice for the most vulnerable among us while listening and learning from them.

CFA, HFNJ’s parent company, is dedicated to providing fair and equitable services to all community members who need food and housing assistance and to advocate for justice for all.
